Southwark, LondonAfter over 30 years in the brewing industry, Peter Jackson decided it was time to do his own thing and set up his own micro-brewery. Originally from the North East, Peter had previously lived and worked in London, and had, not to put too fine a point on it, drunk in many London Pubs. Having seen the growth of local breweries outside the capital, the beer range on the average London pub bar was fairly predictable, with any excitement coming from outside the capital. The opportunity seemed to be right for some new and exciting craft cask ales from the capital.Southwark Brewing Company was the result, founded in SE1 near the site of two of the biggest breweries in London – Barclay Perkins and Courage both closed down in the 80’s with many beers lost forever. Housed in a railway arch, it is a perfect location for brewing and supplying pubs throughout the capital. SE1 is a buzzing developing area now dominated by The Shard, over looking London Bridge Station which is undergoing a massive redevelopment to be open in 2018. Add to this London and Tower Bridges, the Thames Walk, Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe, HMS Belfast and many more tourist attractions, as well as many of the capitals best pubs.

Dalston, London40FT Brewery opened its doors on 1st May 2015 in a disused car park in Dalston, East London. The brew house and tap room are built in repurposed 40 foot shipping containers. The tap room is open on weekends from 5-10pm, Fri & Sat.
Totenham Hale, LondonBeavertown was set up in December 2011 by Logan Plant in the kitchen of Duke's Brew and Que, in De Beauvoir, Hackney, London. The brew house, situated opposite the two Smokers of the BBQ restaurant, runs at 4BBL per brew (650 litres - 1150 pints). In March of 2013 we moved out of our home at Duke's Brew & Que and into our new brew site at Unit 4 Stour Road, Fish Island, London E3 2NT. Now with a little bit more space we can push the boundaries of brewing and get more beer out to the thirsty masses. In May 2014 we moved to our new 11,000sqft space in Tottenham Hale. We upgraded to a 30BBL (50HL) brew house. We also sat our 'heartbeat' 4BBL kit next to Big Beaver to constantly push our Alpha's, experiments and minds!

Wisbech, CambridgeshireThe North Brink Brewery was built in 1795 and the brewhouse is a classic English Ale brewery and Elgood’s proudly carry on the brewing of their own beers for local and wider distribution across the UK. The process is carried out using equipment dating from 1910 to the present day, as a program of refurbishment of the brewery has been sympathetically carried out over the last few years.
Elgood’s is also the only regional brewer in the country able to produce a Lambic-Style beer, due to owning a unique pair of open cooling trays, known as ‘coolship trays’. These are needed for the brewing process, allowing the beer to cool naturally overnight, attracting a range of wild yeasts and flavours dominant in the area. The beer then undergoes a spontaneous fermentation over a period of six to nine months.

CroydonFormer Alcohol Wholesaler, Mark Russell & Former City Worker, Simon Dale, met shortly before the London riots in 2011 at a beer festival, and found they both were having thoughts about starting up a new brewery in the area. Both born and raised in Croydon, where there has been no commercial brewery since 1954, the riots and subsequent renewal of community spirit convinced them to push ahead with their plans. After nearly a year of test brewing, planning and trying to find financial backing, The Cronx Brewery was formed. They had their commercial brewery equipment delivered on 10th July 2012, brewed for the first time commercially on 18th July 2012, and had their first beers on sale in Croydon pubs on Wednesday 8th August 2012, exactly one year after the riots occurred in Croydon. The first year of trading beat all expectations, and they now brew five permanent beers, as well as a range of special seasonal and one-off brews.
‘The Cronx’ is a portmanteau of Croydon (Or it’s postcode; CR0) and The Bronx, and has been used as an affectionate tongue in cheek reference to the often much maligned London Borough we call home.

If you haven't brewed beer before, our beginner's class will give you everything you need to get started. We use German-made Braumeisters with a 20litre capacity. This provides about 40 bottles of beer (500ml each). The machine has an integrated digital thermometer and timer and is really easy to clean.

LondonHiver sources raw honey from independent British beekeepers. Beekeepers say that good quality honey should not be pasteurised, the same way that brewers talk about good quality beer. The fact that bees forage in a three mile radius to the hive, means that the three honeys we source for Hiver are as varied and unique as the malted barley and hops that were picked during the recipe development stage.
Honey beer as a style is incredibly traditional in the UK and we'll look forward to further exploring the old stories as well as bringing out new craft beers to show what honey and malts can really do together. A gin martini: carefully prepared, with a complexity and balance that was unmatched by modern-day gins. Through his research into the golden era of London gin-making, Christian discovered the legacy of gin-making in his neighbourhood, Bermondsey. It was this his first gin, Bermondsey Dry, was named for. Not long afterwards, the finding of a handwritten distiller’s notebook that documented forty years of gin-making inspired a new project, an Old Tom gin.
